about

Nearly two years ago, a fresh-faced artist from Halifax, Nova Scotia impressed Silk with his infectious melodies and overall dancefloor sensibility. Since that time, Dezza, a.k.a. Derek Silvester, has become one of progressive house's brightest stars, with numerous top-charting tracks on Beatport on various elite labels.

"Let's Go For A Walk," the title cut of this EP, was originally released as part of Silk's "Sampler #2"; true to form, the track includes an irresistible summer-day lead, which seemingly inspired the title. In the main break, a Pryda-inspired resonant synth adds greater pace to the already bouncy and exceedingly jubliant 'walk.'

Polish artist Kobana, better known as one half of the super-duo Kobana & Mario Hatchet, has been on a tear of late, with a recent EP on Silk Digital and a track on the upcoming Anjunadeep: 03 compilation. His remix has a much more moody and anticipatory vibe, as if flash-forwarding to an anxious, evening "walk" through the busy streets of a bustling metropolis. The remix features a few variations on the original lead melodies, but, overall, Kobana's take is a stripped-down affair, centering on a funky bassline and looping arpeggio.

Dezza's second original, Adelina, is so named for his lovely wife of several years. Like the title cut, this track features aggressive beats and a hooky lead chord progression, which becomes increasingly more resonant throughout the tune. In the main break, the lead furiously crescendos into a peak-hour-style drop.

Finally, esteemed French producer Urban Breathe brings his groovy remix touch to this one. Featured over the years on such powerhouse labels as Anjunadeep and Discoteca, Urban Breathe infuses his take with a beautiful after-hours atmosphere, as well as various new melodic elements and signature filtered pads. In the main break, the main melody of the original has been given the piano treatment, while gorgeous new arps and pads further enhance the melodic landscape.
